CLUSTREL SELECTED FOR THE EIC BUSINESS VALIDATION PROGRAMME

We are excited to share an important milestone in the CLUSTREL journey: CLUSTREL has been selected for the EIC Tech to Market (T2M) Business Validation Programme!
Starting in October, Audrey Franceschi Biagioni, Lina Giannivasili, Emma Tsai, and Kyriaki Daskaloudi will represent the CLUSTREL project during an intensive eight-week programme designed to help research project to explore the journey from an innovative technology to a viable solution with real-world potential.
For CLUSTREL, that is still at the beginning of its journey, this is an exciting opportunity to look ahead.
From breakthrough research to real-world potential
Developing an innovative technology is only one part of the journey.
For research to ultimately create impact beyond the laboratory, we also need to understand how the technology could be used. Who are the potential users? What are their needs? What challenges could influence adoption? How does the technology fit into existing healthcare pathways? And what would be needed for it to move towards future clinical and market applications?
The EIC Business Validation Programme gives the CLUSTREL team the opportunity to start exploring these questions early in the project. The eight-week programme combines online learning, masterclasses, dedicated coaching, mentoring, and interviews with market and industry stakeholders.
Through a Design Thinking approach, the CLUSTREL team will work on understanding market needs, developing and testing its value proposition, exploring customer needs, and refining the project's business model.
This is particularly valuable for a technology such as CLUSTREL, where successful future adoption will depend not only on technical performance, but also on how well the solution responds to the realities of patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, industry, and the wider healthcare ecosystem.
Why start now?
Although CLUSTREL has only recently begun, the pathway towards future impact cannot wait until the final stages of the project.
Early validation allows the consortium to listen, test, learn, and adapt while the technology is still being developed.
It means asking the right questions early enough for the answers to influence the journey ahead.
For CLUSTREL, this complements the project's scientific and technical work by helping build a better understanding of the conditions that could support future uptake. It also creates an opportunity to identify challenges early, rather than discovering them once the technology is fully developed.
This is where the EIC programme can bring significant value: providing a structured environment in which the team can challenge its assumptions and look at CLUSTREL from perspectives beyond research and technology.
Looking ahead
Being selected for the EIC Tech to Market Business Validation Programme is more than a recognition of CLUSTREL’s potential. It is an opportunity to challenge ourselves, learn from others, and take the next step in our journey.
The project may only be at the beginning, but the journey towards impact starts now.
